Ingredients

  • 75 g / 6 oz Neill's Self Raising Flour
  • 125 g / 4 oz soft margarine
  • 150 g / 5 oz caster sugar
  • 50 g / 2 oz chocolate powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1-2 tablespoons water, if required

Filling Ingredients

  • 50 g / 2 oz milk chocolate
  • 50 g / 2 oz icing sugar
  • 50 g / 2 oz butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Method

  1. Grease and line two 8″ sandwich tins.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Blend in sieved flour and chocolate powder alternately with water to form a soft dropping consistency.
  4. Divide into sandwich tins and bake in hot oven. 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5 for 20-25 minutes.

Filling and Decorating:

  1. Place chocolate and milk in small saucepan.
  2. Heat gradually until chocolate has melted.
  3. Pour over butter and icing sugar, whisk up quickly.
