Neill's Flour Recipes
Cherry and walnut Cake
Method:
Cream margarine and sugar.
Add beaten egg and flour.
Finally mix in milk, chopped cherries and coarsely chopped walnuts.
Bake in a lined 2lb loaf tin at 160 degrees centigrade (320f/Gas mark 3) for 60 minutes.
Ice thinly some of the glace cherries and walnuts and then dribble remaining icing over.
Ingredients
- 200g/8oz Neill's Self Raising Flour
- 175g/6oz Margarine
- 175g/6oz Caster Sugar
- 60g/2 ½ oz Glace cherries
- 25g/1 oz Walnuts
- 3 Eggs
- 3 Tablespoons Milk
Topping
- 75g/3oz Icing Sugar
- 25g/1oz Roughly chopped walnuts
- 35g/1 ½ oz Halved cherries
- Water or lemon juice to mix
