A Short History of Neill's Flour Mill.

Neill’s flour mill dates back to the 1800’s when during the time of the potato famine the mill was used to grind maize and was then known as McCammon’s Mill. Mr McCammon employed James Neill as manager of the firm in 1851 and in 1867 passed the business over to him when the mill took it’s present name. It was at this time that wheat started to be ground in the mill to produce stoneground flour. In the 1880’s the mill was remodelled using (what was at the time) state of the art steel roller mills. Today, we mill all types of flour including Self Raising, Golden Fleece Plain, Self Raising Soda Bread Flour, Fine and Coarse Wholemeal flour.
